Oakwood Valuations Surveyors is a specialist firm of chartered surveyors providing property valuations and expert advice. The firm was established by Graham Bowcock, a Registered Valuer with more than thirty years’ experience of property advice, predominantly in the rural sector.

Oakwood Valuation Surveyors values all types of property across the north west of England and North Wales and for all purposes, including secured lending, taxation (Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax, for example), family re-arrangements, disputes and Charities Act reports. The firm’s background is in the rural property and agricultural sectors.

Oakwood prides itself on prompt agreed report turnaround times.

Oakwood also provides reports as Expert Witness, usually instructed through solicitors, suitable for production in Court or Tribunal.  Often these relate to matters connected to farm businesses and farm property.

Additionally the firm provides advice to landowners and farmers in respect of development schemes. We can introduce land promoters and house builders willing to enter planning agreements.

Oakwood Valuation Surveyors is Regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and is a Member of The Property Ombudsman Scheme.

In November 2020 Oakwood purchased Morrison Property Services, Altrincham’s oldest name in Estate Agency. Established in the days when property management was undertaken on foot, Morrison’s founder David Morrison created an agency which provided services well beyond other local agents at the time.

Oakwood are pleased to combine Morrison’s rich history and long-standing expertise with their forward-thinking, strategic, and personal approach to all client property matters. They look forward to working with existing clients of both firms and welcoming new clients throughout their expansion.

Graham Bowcock MRICS MRAC

Managing Director

Graham Bowcock is a Shropshire farmer’s son (but points out he was born in Chester) who studied Rural Estate Management at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. He returned to Cheshire to work in land agency before spending three years with Co-operative Group, advising on their extensive rural estate and farming portfolio across the UK. He subsequently established A G Bowcock and Co in 1992 and after various mergers became part of surveyors Berrys in 2001, retiring from the Partnership in 2018. He has now created Oakwood Valuation Surveyors to specialise in valuations and associated professional work in the north West and North Wales. Graham has significant property experience and has undertaken hundreds of property valuations in his career. His clients include private individuals, family enterprises and household name organisations.

Andrew Aspinall MRICS


Andrew has significant property experience, having spent 19 years at Co-operative Group managing strategic land holdings and commercial investments across the UK. Andrew has considerable experience in managing professional teams to promote brown and green field sites for development. Over the last ten years Andrew has lead numerous strategic land projects that have resulted the grant of planning permission for development of over 1,400 new homes. Andrew has a wealth of experience in complex sales negotiations in order to successfully achieve the best value for the client.

Lydia Sirovica BA (HONS)

Associate Surveyor

Lydia graduated from The University of Birmingham in 2018 with a Drama and Theatre Arts degree. After joining Oakwood in 2019 and initially assisting with the development of the newly formed business, Lydia discovered, having dipped her toes into property surveying, a great interest in the industry. Lydia thrives when faced with a challenge and 2020 presented just that, however this did not discourage her from getting involved with the professional work, assisting with site inspections and report writing. Lydia is now recognised as a graduate surveyor with a pathway for professional training and is eager to grow both personally and professionally with the business.

Sally Kendrick

Office Manager

Sally joined Morrison Property Services as an Administrator in 2010 and has since developed into a highly experienced Office Manager and an essential member of the team. In her role, Sally is responsible for the day to day running of the office and negotiating with prospective tenants and purchasers. Estate agency and property management provides a varied and fast paced environment which Sally loves and thrives upon. As a highly effective communicator, she is regularly in contact with both landlords and tenants to ensure a seamless property management service. Sally told us her favourite part of the job is getting to know our landlords requirements and being able to match this with a suitable tenant. Once a deal has been agreed, Sally is responsible for preparing heads of terms, tenancy agreements and overseeing the transactions, through to completion.

Susan Thorpe

Chartered Certified Accountant

Susan qualified as an accountant in 1988 and spent several years working for various accountancy practices within the Altrincham area where she gained experience in preparing the accounts for a wide variety of businesses ranging from sole traders to limited companies. She has also worked for a legal practice based in the Stretford area. She began working for Morrison Property Services in 2017 as an Accounts Controller. She is involved with all aspects of the accounts from the receipts of rents, service charges and sales commissions through to the payment to landlords, contractors and suppliers. She also deals with the accounts for the flat blocks that we manage. She is looking forward to continuing to serve our clients as the business grows.

Moe Clarke

Accounts Controller

Moe is an Accounts Controller and has worked in Accounts based roles for the last 20 years, having taken a break in between for 5 years to raise her two young sons. She has been with Morrisons since 2015, so is familiar with all aspects of the day to day running of the business. She enjoys dealing with the challenges that this role brings, and also liasing with tenants, clients and contractors on a daily basis, resolving any issues that they may have. She has an excellent knowledge of Altrincham and surrounding areas due to having gone to school and living in the area most of her life. She is looking forward to her new role with Oakwood and assisting in the smooth running of the Accounts department.

Ciaran Dwyer

Property Manager

Ciaran has an abundance of knowledge surrounding property management and agency, having gained experience working for some of the largest estate agents based in the North West for many years. Having grown up in the Altrincham area, Ciaran knows the local market well and will undertake the management of Oakwood's diverse property portfolio. Ciaran is particularly interested in developing innovative and modern methods of technology to improve efficiency and productivity within the company, whilst continuing his studies towards being Assoc RICS accredited in residential surveying.

Hannah Murphy

Office Administrator

Hannah has joined Oakwood to cover for maternity leave and has responsibility for assisting in the administration in all departments. This includes arranging viewings and client appointments, as well as being a link between tenants and landlords.

Jonathan Morrison

Consultant Surveyor

Jonathan is a qualified chartered surveyor with over 40 years property business experience. He is overseeing the transfer of the Morrison property management portfolio to Oakwood and works on new lettings and valuations. Jon has a considerable knowledge of the local property market.
